Cornflower Water

This widespread plant with its characteristic blue flower is used in ophthalmology. Its aromatic water, obtained by distillation, is used for external treatment of the eyelids and eye area with a decongestant effect and against redness.

How to use

Soak a gauze or cotton ball with Aromatic Water and gently swipe it over the dog's eye from top to bottom, paying attention to the inner corner of the eye. If the redness is severe and the dog allows it, leave the cotton ball on the eye for a few seconds to make a short compress. For epiphora, the eyes should be cleaned daily, paying attention to the tear duct to avoid the formation of the classic dark streak. It is also indicated to facilitate the removal of foreign bodies from the eye by pouring them directly and abundantly on the eye in this case.

The vet's advice

If your dog has brown/red colored fur under the eyes caused by tears, you can easily remove the stains with Cornflower water. The hair is discolored by an enzyme called porphin, a waste product that contains red blood cells and is normally excreted in bile and feces, but in excess is also excreted in tears and saliva. This can be caused by stress, illness or simply a poor diet; we therefore recommend combining it with Pure Aloe Juice SALUS VET, which has a cleansing effect. In the diet, the consumption of white meat should be favored over red meat, which is more difficult to digest.

After a walk in nature I found pollen and grass seeds in my dog's eye, can I rinse the eye with the Cornflower water?

Of course, you can pour some of it directly and then, if the dog allows it, make a compress.

Can it also be used to remove brown tear stains?
